STR-BU-041 (SBK16)Buckles for Stainless Steel Strapping
Stainless steel strapping buckles are high-strength, corrosion-resistant fasteners used with stainless steel strapping to secure items in harsh, outdoor, or industrial environments. They are made from 304 or 316 stainless steel, giving them excellent durability and resistance to rust, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. Stainless steel buckles (often called wing seals, ear clips, or stainless buckles) are metal fittings designed so that stainless steel strap can be fed through and tensioned. Once tightened, the buckle “locks” onto the strap, creating a permanent, high-strength fastening. Common uses They are typically used with banding systems in heavy-duty or long-term applications such as:- Sign fixing and traffic signage
- Industrial hose clamping
- Cable bundling
- Marine environments
- Oil, gas, and chemical plants
- Infrastructure and utility pole fastening
- Insulation cladding and ductwork
- Corrosion resistant – ideal for marine, outdoor, chemical, and high-moisture use
- Very strong – suitable for heavy loads and critical installations
- Temperature resistant – withstands extreme heat and cold
- Secure permanent fastening when used with a stainless tensioner
- Compatible with all stainless steel banding widths (commonly 9.5mm, 12.7mm, 19mm)
- The stainless steel strap is looped through the buckle.
- A stainless steel banding tensioner applies tension to tighten the system.
- The buckle is crimped or locked, biting into the strap.
- The result is a secure, tamper-resistant fastening that can last for decades.

Description
Buckles for Stainless Steel Strapping
Common uses
They are typically used with banding systems in heavy-duty or long-term applications such as:
- Sign fixing and traffic signage
- Industrial hose clamping
- Cable bundling
- Marine environments
- Oil, gas, and chemical plants
- Infrastructure and utility pole fastening
- Insulation cladding and ductwork
Where corrosion or weathering is a concern, stainless buckles are the preferred option.
Why stainless steel buckles are used
- Corrosion resistant – ideal for marine, outdoor, chemical, and high-moisture use
How they work
- The stainless steel strap is looped through the buckle.
- A stainless steel banding tensioner applies tension to tighten the system.
- The buckle is crimped or locked, biting into the strap.
- The result is a secure, tamper-resistant fastening that can last for decades.
